Join us for the BONFYRE TRAIL FEST for a day of trail running and hiking at the DTE Energy Foundation Trail in Waterloo State Recreation area, the largest park in Michigan's Lower Peninsula!
In the unlikely event that the trail conditions are compromised due to weather on November 2nd, the rain date will be NOVEMBER 9.
The Bonfyre Trail Fest at the new DTE Energy Foundation Trail will make your trail running and hiking dreams come true! The flow of this dirt roller coaster is unlike any other trail in the area. As you traverse through pines, along steep embankments and around boulders, you'll wonder if you're out west... until the stunning lakes and wetlands remind you that you are indeed in PURE MICHIGAN! We anticipate light MTB traffic due to a major race taking place the same weekend. Come enjoy this local gem on FOOT!
Stick around post run for a roaring bonfire, a beer garden with local craft beer flowing, live music and s'mores!
Please note: All trail mileage at DTE Energy Foundation Trails have been measured multiple times with a measuring wheel. GPS is inaccurate on flow trails due to coastline paradox so your watch will likely be inaccurate!
Green: 5 Miles of roller coaster, flowing fun!
Kame: 10 Miles beginning with easy flowing fun, then upping the ante to more challenging miles with climbs and a few fun features.
Winn: 18 Miles with a mix of flowing fun, challenging climbs and descent, followed by a little more challenging stuff.
Cutoff Times: All participants must finish by 3PM (5 hours). 5 Mile and 10 Mile are hiker friendly (must maintain 25 minutes/mile). 18M is not hiker friendly.
All registrations include a custom cozy knit beanie, finisher's campfire mug, marked trail run course, beer, finish food, s'mores, a rockin' post race party, and award eligibility! Stick around post race and celebrate around a roaring fire with a live band playing, food trucks and a beer garden flowing! The first one is on us, then all beer sale proceeds will go towards trail maintenance!
